Conclusions & Observations
While the news and many sources will tell you that inventory is low, it's not significantly lower than it has been for several years. Rockford's number of closed sales decreased year over year, partly due to the rising interest rates that have gradually caused them to more than double in one year. This has buyers on their heels a bit and has narrow the buyer pool some. However, there is still a healthy level of buyer demand despite the current interest rates increases.

In the Greater Grand Rapids area, Rockford had the third most units (homes) close this far in 2022, with the top two being the dense downtown Grand Rapids area and second being Forest Hills. This is likely due, in part, to the amount of new construction happening in Rockford.
